Ontario's transportation minister has announced this year's gas tax funding for municipalities to spend on public transit.
The province is providing money to 99 cities and towns.
The program provides municipalities with $0.02 per litre of provincial gas tax revenues. It was made a permanent funding source in 2013, and this year's contribution is $334.5-million, an increase of $1.6-million over last year.
How much each municipality gets is based on a formula that takes into account ridership per capita.
Windsor's share is $3,521,320.
Transit Windsor Director of Operations Pat Delmore says the service hasn't received official notification from the province yet, but typically the money goes into the operating budget.
London will receive $9,356,892, and Chatham-Kent's share is $910,120.
Toronto being the province's largest city will get the most, more than $170-million this year.
