Chatham-Kent police have been targeting motorists this week -- educating members of the public on how to prevent crimes.
Ontario's Crime Prevention week has offered an opportunity for officers to talk to local residents about things like cybercrime, personal and public safety, and property crimes.
"It's been very well received, people are grateful for the information," says Constable Renee Cowell. "And sometimes people just don't know, so again it's all about being aware and being educated."
On Thursday, Chatham-Kent police and OPP were stopping vehicles on Keil Dr., reminding them to share the road with cyclists.
On Saturday, they'll hold a public information session featuring a presentation from the ACCESS Open Minds Centre regarding mental health.
"It's an information session, everyone from the community is welcome to attend. I know the chief will be there to have an open conversation. The agenda is posted on our website," adds Cowell.
The public information session goes from 9am to 1pm Saturday at the Park Ave. Business Centre in Chatham.
