Life Threatening Accident Near Ridgetown

A 32-year-old man has suffered life threatening injuries in an industrial accident near Ridgetown.

Chatham-Kent police are providing few details at this time, but do say the incident happened just before 12pm Tuesday at a work site on Scane Rd.

A 32-year-old man from Arthur has been taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance to be treated for his injuries.

"From what we understand, it appears to be a construction project and that the worker was operating a boom truck," says Ministry of Labour spokesperson Janet Deline. "The nature of the actual incident itself is still under investigation."

The Ministry of Labour has since taken over the investigation and Deline says a ministry inspector has attended the scene. An engineer will also be attending to help with the investigation.

Deline says the employer at the site of the construction project is Gerritts Drilling 2014 Inc.
