Police Seize $1.7M Worth Of Pot Plants In Kingsville

Two men are facing charges after police seized over $1-million worth of marijuana plants during a drug bust in Kingsville.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 9:30am, officers executed a search warrant on Essex County Rd. 34 near Olinda Side Rd.

Police discovered and seized 1,700 mature marijuana plants, with a street value of around $1.7-million.

Yan Qing Zhao, 53, Toronto and Ming Zheng, 34, of Richmond Hill have each been charged with possession of a Schedule 2 substance for the purpose of trafficking over 3 kg, and producing a Schedule 2 substance.

Both men appeared in a Windsor court on Thursday for a bail hearing.
