Fire caused extensive damage to a barn near Mildmay.
Fire crews responded to a call around 4:30pm Wednesday. The property was located near Stewart's Town and Country Market.
Firefighters from Teeswater, Walkerton and Clifford were called into assist.
But while water was being poured onto the barn fire, an adjacent field caught fire. That split firefighters into two groups - one to work on the barn and one to stop the field fire from spreading.
Both fires were extinguished and firefighters remained on scene for several hours to control hot spots.
It is the second barn fire in the Mildmay area in the past few days. A fire destroyed a barn on the 2nd Concession East last Saturday.
