Community Living Back Up And Running

Community Living Chatham-Kent's office on Riverview Dr. is back open after a flood scare on Friday.

Following last week's large thunderstorm, crews have been working to dry their administrative office with dehumidifiers and fans. Office hours will now return to normal Wednesday morning.

Executive Director Ron Coristine says there was no programming this week or last week, but some employees were still at the office.

"I, quite frankly, have never seen anything like that before," says Coristine. "It was like a little river halfway down the hallway. I think everybody was caught off guard and in shock."

Executive Director Ron Coristine says they were lucky the flooding happened when it did.

"You hate to say there's a good time for something like this to happen, but with respect to the Riverview day program, they were on shutdown last week and this week. So fortunately the people who utilize that program, and their families, aren't impacted at all," says Coristine.

Coristine adds they still haven't figured out the exact value of the total damages.
