Fire Engulfs Vacant Home Near Bothwell

Police and fire officials are investigating after a fire broke out at an abandoned home near Bothwell.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services says on Friday around 9am, firefighters from the Bothwell and Thamesville stations responded to the blaze at 6870 Fansher Rd., to find the home fully engulfed.

Firefighters were unable to enter the home due to the dilapidated state of the structure and the severity of the fire.

Damage is estimated at around $50,000

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the incident is currently being considered by the Ontario Provincial Police for investigation.
