Warmer Than Normal June Is Expected

June's forecast is expected to be a little bit warmer than normal.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says temperatures will be similar to what we experienced in May.

"In May we had an average temperature of 13.5C and the long term average was 12.7C, so a little bit warmer than normal," says Coulson.

"That type of trend is expected to continue for the month of June."

Coulson says at this point, models are also indicating similar trends in July and August.

He says weather will be a bit unsettled into Tuesday afternoon with a small chance of some shower activity.

Coulson says sunshine and cooler temperatures, with high's around 19C (66F) are expected Wednesday and Thursday.

Summer officially arrives on Monday, June 20th at 6:34pm.
