Tecumseh Rd. E Is The Worst

The results are in, and the CAA says Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor is the fourth worst road in southwest Ontario.

"Tecumseh Rd. E has appeared on the regional list at least for the past several years," says Government Relations Specialist Ray Chan with CAA Southcentral Ontario. The other four roads in the top five are in Sarnia.

He says every road on the list has earned its dubious distinction.

"We certainly throughout the campaign have issues -- such as missing or confusing road signs. We've had many issues about road congestion," says Chan.

Back in April, the CAA asked the public to nominate the worst roads in their community. The informal survey has been a mainstay since 2003 and has grown over the years. Chan says this year's campaign garnered a record 2,500 nominations.

While people love to complain about the state of their roads, Chan says failing infrastructure is a serious issue and one the CAA has been lobbying governments to change for several years.

"We would like to see more and continued dedicated funds towards infrastructure improvements," he says. "[But], no matter how much money is dedicated towards something like this it's never really going to be enough."
