Golfers Qualify For Junior Tour

A pool of 81 golfers has been wittled down to 56 as junior and collegiate players look to punch their ticket to this summer's Jamieson Jr. Golf Tour.

The tour's qualifier went Sunday afternoon at Fox Glen Golf Club, with 38 junior boys and 8 junior girls earning a spot. Spencer Higgenbottom led the way for the junior boys with a day-high 75. Tess Scaman had the best junior girl's round, earning an 84.

At the Collegiate level, T.J. Thompson out of Talbot Trail led the pack with a 76, and on the women's side Alyssa Getty shot a 77. A total of 10 collegiate players qualified for the southwestern Ontario tournament.

Those golfers will now join 55 exempt players, who qualified for this year's tour based on their results last year. For more about the tour, click here.
