Maroons Head Coach Steps Down

The head coach of the Chatham Maroons has resigned from his duties due to disagreements with owners on the direction of the team.

Head Coach Tyler Roeszler told BlackburnNews.com on Sunday that he, along with two other members of the coaching staff, would be stepping down.

"The coaching staff didn't have a shared vision with ownership with the direction and the development of the team," he says. "It was just very different philosophies."

Roeszler wouldn't comment further on the specifics of the rift between the coaching staff and the team's owners.

"I'm going to miss coaching the group of guys that we had," he says. "We had a great group of kids and I love my time coaching in Chatham."

Roeszler was with the Maroons coaching staff for three seasons -- a year and a half as an assistant coach, and the other year and a half as head coach. He was promoted to head coach after former coach Mark Davis stepped down in November 2014 due to work demands.

The Chatham Maroons have not issued a statement regarding the departure of Roeszler or the other two coaches.
