Windsor's Ronald McDonald House is now open on the third floor of Windsor Regional Hospital's Met Campus.
Joshua Leclair's 13-year-old daughter JC and 10-year-old son Jonas have both spent time in hospital over the last decade, and he says it's amazing the amount of stress this facility takes off of families.
"You don't have to think about when there's meals, you just head back to the house and there's a volunteer group making a meal for you," explains Leclair. "You don't have to worry about paying for a hotel room, it's here for you, it's clean, you can focus all of your energy on helping heal your child."
The new $1.4-million facility will be able to accommodate up to seven families every night, starting Monday.
London's Ronald McDonald House serves 1,400 families each year, about 300 of which have been travelling from Windsor-Essex.
