A young Windsor man is learning the hard way that driving 164 km/h on Hwy. 401 isn't the most efficient way home.
The 21-year-old was allegedly caught speeding along the highway near Charing Cross Rd. Wednesday just after midnight, Chatham-Kent OPP say.
Officers were doing radar enforcement at the time. They also found out the driver should have been wearing corrective lenses.
The Windsor man has been charged with racing a motor vehicle and driving in contravention of conditions. Police have not released his name.
The driver's license has been suspended and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
If convicted he could face a fine between $2,000 and $10,000, six demerit points, up to six months in jail and up to a two-year license suspension for a first conviction.
A second conviction within ten years can land you a license suspension of up to ten years.
