Man With Shotgun Wakes Up Homeowners

Police have arrested a 49-year-old Blenheim man who they allege broke into a residence south of Chatham while carrying a shotgun.

Chatham-Kent police say the man entered the home on Ninth Line shortly after 8am Tuesday and woke up the people inside.

Investigators say the man knew the homeowners.

The suspect allegedly fled the area before police could get there, but officers were able to track him down and arrest him about an hour later.

The accused is charged with break and enter, but officers say they expect to lay more charges as the investigation continues.

No injuries were reported.
