Hockey Community Mourns Jordan Shine

Former London Knight and Wallacetown native Jordan Shine is dead at 27.

Shine was found dead in his friends house in the Toronto area on Sunday. He played with the London Knights throughout the 2007-2008 season. Prior to that he played with the Barrie Colts and Belleville Bulls.

Reports suggest the former OHL player had been working as a DJ. A cause of death has not been released.

Shine grew up in the Chatham-Kent area and his family is still heavily involved in the sport on a local level.

The Wallaceburg Lakers issued the following statement after learning of the news.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
