Jobless Rate Continues To Drop

Following a drop in the jobless rate in February, unemployment in Windsor is down again in March.

Statistics Canada says the unemployment rate for last month was 7%, a drop of 0.7% from the month before.

That's below the national rate which fell to 7.1% from 7.3% in February. Canada's economy added 40,600 jobs in March.

The provincial rate remained unchanged at 6.8%.

Windsor's rate, often tops in the country, doesn't even place in the top ten. Saguenay, Quebec had the highest rate in Canada at 9.1%.

The unemployment rate ticked upwards in London to 6.6% from 6.4%.
