Flyers Eliminate Maroons From Playoffs

Then Leamington Flyers will advance to the playoff finals after defeating the Chatham Maroons 4-2 in Game 6 on Sunday.

The Maroons drew first blood with a goal in the first period, but the Flyers took a 2-1 lead before the second. Leamington then added another two goals to make it 4-1 going into the third. Chatham scored another goal in the third frame, but couldn't catch up in the final minutes.

The Flyers won the series 4-2 to eliminate the Maroons.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says he was honoured to coach a team that showed so much comradery throughout the season.

"These guys are willing to go through a wall for each other and you just have a different level of investment, a different level of intensity when these kids come out.," he says. "They love the guy they're playing and do whatever it takes to block a shot or sacrifice their body in order to help the team win. These kids are absolutely incredible."

The Flyers will take on the London Nationals in the playoff finals.
