Woman Suffers Unknown Injury While Fishing

Police are not releasing much information but say officers are investigating after a woman was injured while fishing near Bothwell.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday around 7pm, officers were called after the 22-year-old Ridgetown woman suffered an unknown injury while fishing on the bank of the Thames River.

The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for a non-life threatening injury.

In an email to BlackburnNews.com, Constable Janine Belanger says the OPP cannot confirm the cause of the injury at this time as it is still under investigation.

The OPP Crime Unit has been called in to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
