The Wallaceburg Lakers new General Manager is hoping a commitment to defense will help the team get on a winning track next year and is aiming for an eventual championship.
Ritch Kanally says he knows the town and the team and believes fans will support a winning effort after a number of years out of the playoffs.
"I'm hoping it's not going to take too long, two to three years, first I want to get us better defensively," he says. "Its going to start having faith in my coaches, if you have a good coaching system in place I believe winning comes along with it."
The team is preparing to recruit new players and has a spring camp set for next month in Blenheim.
