Marijuana And Fish Dispute

A dispute over a fish and fake marijuana resulted in assault charges against a Chatham man.

Chatham-Kent police say a 12-year-old boy went to the man's residence Saturday to sell him a fish and ask for payment for a fish tank that he had already delivered.

The man offered to pay with a bag of marijuana, but the boy realized it was a different kind of herb, oregano. They got into a dispute and the man hit him in the head.

The boy didn't require medical attention. Police arrested a suspect yestereday and he faces a future court date on an assault charge.
