Chatham-Kent police have laid an impaired driving charge after a officer was almost run off the road last night.
An officer on patrol on Baseline Rd. about 11:30 pm had to take evasive action when an approaching vehicle crossed the centre line.
The officer turned and tried to stop the vehicle but it continued, hit a curb and then stopped in a parking lot.
The driver of the vehicle, a 56-year-old Wallaceburg man faces charges of impaired driving, driving while under suspension, not having insurance and using licence plates not authorized for the car.
