The Alvinston Flyers edged the Lakeshore Canadiens 4-3 in Great Lakes Junior "C" Hockey League action on Tuesday night.
The Flyers jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period through goals from Karsten Berg and Clint Rose, but the Canadiens fought back in the second period with goals from Jarrett Tazzman and Brenden Crundwell to tie up the game heading into the final frame.
Berg scored again for the Flyers for his second of the game and Kole Keating added the insurance goal — and the eventual game winner as Sebastian Kanally scored for the Canadiens late in the third period to make things interesting.
Both goaltenders were busy with Brendan Shuck facing 36 shots in the Lakeshore net and Matt Boere seeing 40 pucks fired his way in the Alvinston goal.
