Municipal and sports officials continue to discuss ideas to upgrade the Chatham Memorial Arena ten months after the Kraft Hockeyville promotion awarded it $100,000.
Municipal officials say the money has been set aside and there is no danger of it being swept up for general budget purposes.
But the groups involved in the process also want a legacy project not used for maintenance like paving a parking lot and something that will have a lasting impact.
The trouble is major changes to the arena would require a lot more than $100,000.
Municipal staff and hockey groups have been tossing around ideas and some of those ideas should be developed and presented to council in the foreseeable future.
