Canada will face the United States in the preliminary round of the World Juniors Hockey Tournament today in Finland.
"As a Canadian you do feel the pressure because it's an important tournament for Canada," says Trevor Letowski, the Windsor Spitfires associated coach serving as assistant coach for Team Canada. "But there's a sense of, kind of, calmness because there's so much preparation that goes in."
Letowski played in the World Juniors Tournament in 1997.
Last year's Canada World Junior's Team won the gold medal against Russia.
"One of Canada's strengths, especially in last year's tournament, was discipline. You can't just start running around and all of a sudden you take penalties. There's high end skill at the tournament from a lot of different teams so we have to be controlled with our pace and our emotions," says Letowski.
The game starts at 1:00 pm.
