Sarnia Man Wins $2-Million

A Sarnia resident is making plans to quit his job after winning the $2-million top prize in the December 2 Ontario 49 lottery draw.

Wesley Davidson says he's planning on staying home with his wife, as well as buying a new car and new set of pots and pans.

“My wife called me while I was on the road and joked that she had just bought the jackpot-winning ticket. So I decided to buy a ticket too."

"The joke was on her when, after the draw, I called her to say that I really did have a winning ticket!” says the news release, quoting Davidson when he picked up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on Britannia Rd. in Mississauga.

It's been a good year for major lottery wins in Sarnia-Lambton. In November, Cathay and Bryan Silverthorne of Sarnia won the $5-million LOTTO 6/49 jackpot, and Susan Kosowan of Alvinston won $75,000 playing OLG's Instant Frosty Tripler.

Three Sarnia residents, Jane Tiggelaar, Terence Tiggelaar and Laurie Fach, claimed nearly $340,000 in the September 25 LOTTO MAX draw.
