Libraries To Offer Tax Services

Chatham-Kent libraries will once again offer income tax services in the new year.

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program sees volunteers sit down with residents to complete their tax forms in the library. Patrons are set up with a volunteer in private for half-hour appointments.

Head Librarian Tania Sharpe says these volunteers are fully trained.

"They can get training throught he Canadian Revenue Agency so they can e-file these taxes," she says. "But a lot also have accounting backgrounds."

The CKPL runs a similar program in partnership with the Union Gas Chartered Accountants. These are expected to run around late February/early March.
