UPDATE: Chatham Cyclist Dies In Crash

An 18-year-old cyclist has died after being hit by an SUV Wednesday night in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say the GMC Acadia was travelling on Bloomfield Rd. between Richmond St. and Riverview Line when the crash happened just after 7pm.

The cyclist, who is from Chatham, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 42-year-old female driver from Tilbury wasn't injured.

Police continue to investigate the crash and haven't laid any charges at this time.
