EQAO Scores Up At Local Board

EQAO numbers are in and it's good news for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board.

"We're pleased expecially with the growth over last year in five of the six categories," says Director of Education Dan Parr. "We're pleased also that in that sixth category we didn't decline, we stayed the same as last year."

For Grade 3 students, 75% met or exceeded the provincial standard for reading, up from 64% the year before. Writing numbers went up to 78% from 75%, and mathematics numbers went up to 67% from 63%.

For Grade 6 students, 80% of students met or exceeded the provincial standard for writing, up from 7% in 2014. Reading numbers went up to 77% from 76%, while mathematics stayed the same at 46%.

Due to job action by teachers in the public board, there are no results from the Lambton-Kent District School Board, and no provincial results.
