Now that public school teachers in the area aren't taking strike action anymore, officials at the Chatham-Kent Cultural Centre are hoping they'll start booking some tours and activities.
Museum education co-ordinator Deanna Provost-Bullard says the lack of school trips has affected them in a big way.
"Usually once Thanksgiving is over, we start getting phone calls to book our November programming, our Christmas programming, and our end-of-year programming," says Provost-Bullard. "None of us have received any calls at all."
And this isn't the first time the centre has been affected by strike action.
"The years where we usually take a big dip are the ones where there has either been a strike or an action going on," says Provost-Bullard. "It's something we kind of know will happen eventually -- we can only hope that the teachers choose to come back to us at some point."
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario finally reached a settlement with the province last week after months of on-and-off negotiations.
