E-Learning Opportunities Growing

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board says teachers and students alike are taking advantage of blended or "e-learning" programming.

Superintendent Deb Crawford says over 100 teachers have signed up for their "in-house" created modules, which educate them on how to bring technology into the classroom. But she adds technology always needs to be complimented with solid planning.

"It's the teacher that is determining the use of the technology. It's to support learning in the classroom, it's not the main thing. It's a tool that can move student learning forward," says Crawford.

The board also estimates around 70% of their high school students participate in "bring your own device" lessons.
