Windsor's jobless rate has ticked upwards according to Statistics Canada.
The agency, which released its monthly report on unemployment Friday, says the jobless rate for October was 9.8%, compared to 9.7% in September. It remains the highest in Canada.
In London, the unemployment rate for October was 7.1%, down from 7.3%.
Ontario's jobless rate slipped from 6.9% in September to 6.8% last month.
The national unemployment rate also dipped slightly to 7% from 7.1% in September as the economy created 44,400 jobs. A surge in temporary public-administration work likely generated by the federal election accounts for 32,000 jobs, says the agency.
Young Canadians continue to be hardest hit when it comes to employment. Statistics Canada says the unemployment rate for those aged 15 to 24 is 13.3%, down from 13.5%.
