Parents, elementary teachers and support staff are breathing easier across the province after tentative contracts were announced yesterday.
Ron Revait the president of the Lambton Kent Elementary Teachers Federation says full details won't be released until tomorrow but some things are moving ahead.
"Our President Sam Hammond has announced that the teacher's can resume extra-curricular activities at this point," he says.
Education Minister Liz Sandals expects a return to regular activities and wants report cards issued no later than Dec. 11.
One Director of Education, Jim Costello with the Lambton Kent District School Board says is some work to do in that area.
"Because CUPE has also been on strike so all of the work that's done in our IT department to get ready in the data base and entering the teachers courses and things like that have to be done," he says. "It's going to a few weeks to get ready."
The tentative agreement still has to be ratified by both sides and there are local bargaining issues still to be worked out.
