Two area hunters are being fined $6,000 for deer hunting offences.
Evan Stass from West Lorne pleaded guilty to a number of infractions including making a false statement to a conservation officer. He was fined $4,000.
Kevin Ball from Chatham was fined $2,000 after he pleaded guilty to hunting deer without a licence.
Conservation officers had responded to a trespassing complaint on a West Lorne property. Officers recorded statements from Stass that two deer had been harvested. However, officers say the hunting party including Stass, Ball and a third hunter had shot three deer.
The case was heard in court in late September.
