Chatham-Kent residents will celebrate life after addiction today as a part of Canada-wide Recovery Day.
CKCHC addiction counsellor Cynthia Perritt says it started in Vancouver four years ago.
"It sparked this movement across Canada to build awareness about addiction, and challenge the societal stigma that often comes with addiction," says Perritt. "We also want to celebrate the role the recovery plays in improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities."
The march begins at the Civic Centre in Chatham and makes it's way to Tecumseh Park for 2pm, where they will have numerous speakers, live music, and a BBQ.
