A Chatham man came up short during a putting contest that could have won him $10,000 Saturday.
Scott Pelltier was one of two qualifiers for Chatham Chrysler's Putt 4 Dough contest. He ended up being the only one to putt Saturday, after the other qualifier had to cancel.
The rules stated Pelltier had only one shot at the hole which was 60 feet away, and ended up left of the green by 1-2 ft. He says he wasn't sure just how far away he'd have to make the shot.
"I figured it would just be a small putt, but not that long. Maybe a coffee cup at the end that you had to put in," he says.
Pelltier did end up going home with a $100 gift card. Saturday also proved the 60 ft putt is doable. After Pelltier finished his shot, employee Scott Aarssen hit the putt on his second try.
