Keil And McNaughton Intersection Being Revisited

Chatham-Kent council will once again re-evaluate a frustrating intersection in Chatham.

Next week they'll debate on whether a stoplight is required at the corner of Keil Dr. N and McNaughton Ave.

Councillor Michael Bondy will introduce the motion. He says recent development has led to confusion.

"Ecole Ste. Marie is growing, the subdivision there is also growing," he says. "The intersection is an odd one, as it stands today, definitely not your standard four-way stop."

The request for a stoplight at that intersection was brought up during the last term of municipal council. During discussions, other solutions were proposed, including the idea of a roundabout being constructed. But Bondy claims a light would be the best, and most cost efficient, solution.

Council failed to pass the motion last time around by just one vote.
