Lambton OPP says the elderly driver of a pickup truck involved in a fiery multi-vehicle crash in St. Clair Township Tuesday afternoon has died.
Police say 89-year-old Theodore Carron of Thamesville died around 1am Wednesday.
OPP officers, fire and EMS responded at about 2:45pm Tuesday to Courtright Line and Mandaumin Rd.
A tractor trailer and a pickup truck were involved in a collision and an oncoming motorcycle hit the truck trailer that had become detached from the cab.
The driver of the motorcycle, 19-year-old James Stafford of St. Clair Township, is in critical condition in hospital.
The driver of the transport truck, a 65-year-old Mount Brydges man, was not hurt.
OPP officers continue to investigate. The intersection was closed until 1:15am Wednesday morning.
