A Warm Fall Predicted

A warm end to summer will continue into the fall, according to Environment Canada.

Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says temperatures will decrease, but expects the season to remain at or above normal temps.

"Things are going to be warmer than normal toward the end of September," he says. "Not necessarily a return to the 30 C (86 F) weather we've experienced recently, but warmer than the long-term average in the mid to high teens."

A strong El Nino is expected to impact our weather, according to Coulson, but he isn't sure how.

"Those warmer than normal waters in the Pacific ocean can effect our climate in the great lakes basin. But, it's a little too early to tell at this point what impact that El Nino will have, especially in the southwest," he says.
