The 35th Annual Terry Fox Run hits the pavement in communities in Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex today.
Cindy Brewer, organizer of the Dresden run, says they're celebrating 20 years of the run in the town with some special events.
"Dresden's known for people getting a little crazy with their fundraising," says Brewer. "We have a few ladies that are running from Chatham to Dresden, they're doing a 35 km in honour of the 35 year anniversary. Our local firefighters are going to be pulling their antique truck, so they're starting at the Legion at 10am."
The run in Dresden starts at the Royal Canadian Legion at 10am and wraps up at 1pm. In Chatham, the event starts at Kingston Park. Registration for the 35km run/walk starts at 6:30am with the event starting at 7am. Registration for the 1 km, 5 km and 10 km run/walk starts at 8:30am.
Tilbury's run starts at the Tilbury Arena with registration at 10:30am. Blenheim's Terry Fox Run starts at the Blenheim Memorial Park/Arena. Registration is at 8:30am, and the run starts at 10am. Ridgetown's event is at the Royal Canadian Legion on Broadway St. from 4pm to 6pm.
In Wallaceburg, registration is at 9am with the run starting an hour later - it's being held at Civic Square Park on James St.
