East Kent Councillor Steve Pinsonneault is concerned by the closure of the police offices in Thamesville will cut police presence.
Pinsonneault says he understands there will be about $9,500 in savings, but he isn't happy with the idea of centralization.
"I think it is money well spent to leave it here, I really did want to see our police presence stay here, they are process right now in this community of starting another community watch, neighbourhood watch type of organization," he says. "I know they closed Dresden here just recently, so that is basically leaving Wallaceburg, Chatham and Ridgetown, it is getting down pretty thin."
Pinsonneault lives in Thamesville and says there is the possibility that even though the office was not used by the public there he's concerned the police may be driving more kilometres.
