United Way Gearing Up

With the campaign kick-off just a few days away, United Way of Chatham-Kent organizers and volunteers are busy with preparation work.

Acting Director of Resource Development Tom Slager says laying the groundwork for the campaign includes meeting with a lot of donor companies and bringing the full campaign team together throughout the municipality.

"It's a very exciting time, it's incredibly busy but it is exiting because there is a lot of anticipation a lot of people are chomping at the bit," he says.

Kelly Bayda is one of the co-chairs of the up-coming campaign and says she and co-chair Aimee June are part of the preparation work as well.

"We're really part of all of the festivities and information pieces that need to be done prior to the campaign so we're doing corporate visits to show our faces and really understand and outline why United Way," she says.

The official kickoff is set for Monday at 4:30pm at the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre.
