Steven O'Brien, 26, of Blenheim was found deceased on a boat on the north shore near Shrewsbury shortly before 8:30am yesterday.
Police do not believe the death to be suspicious at this time.
A post-mortem will be done at a later date.
They were produced during an intense storm last Saturday afternoon.
