Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope is looking for more answers when it comes to Ontario's plan to cut down on carbon emissions through a cap and trade system.
He wants the province to keep local industries in mind as it puts together its plan.
"It's not just a GTA issue. It's not just a rural area issue," says Hope. "It's all of Ontario and making sure that people understand the implications of certain rules and regulations that will affect those businesses or industries that are in Chatham-Kent."
Hope was able to bring the concerns forward to the province at the recent Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference held in Niagara Falls.
"It gave us a chance to corner the minister on that and after he was done he said, 'You know mayor Hope if you want me to come down to the area, I'd be more than happy to,'" says Hope. "I'll be taking him up on that invitation."
