A mosquito pool in Chatham-Kent has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit isn't reporting any human cases at this time, but it says some of the insects that were collected from a trap in Tilbury last week have tested positive.
Officials say most people infected with the virus won't show any symptoms, but those with more severe cases may experience stiff neck, nausea, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, and lack of co-ordination or paralysis.
The health unit says the chances of getting West Nile from an infected mosquito are very low, but they're still reminding residents to protect themselves and to take time to remove any standing water from their property.
