The London Diocese is holding off on selling St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Sherk St. in Leamington until the new St. Michael's is finished.
One offer has already been received, according to Father Patrick Feurth, but they won't be considered until next summer. The church is being used now that the old St. Michael's has been demolished.
Meanwhile, construction began last week on the new $8-million church on Elliott St.
"There is a lot of angles to it, so they figure a little over a year before we can move into it," says Feurthm, adding that the goal is September or October 2016.
The church still needs to raise $1-million toward their fund raising goal.
