Employees at 69 Loblaw stores, including those in Chatham, Sarnia and Windsor, have voted to accept a six-year contract offer from Loblaw Companies Limited, ending an eight day strike.
1,600 employees, represented by UFCW Locals 1000A, 175 and 633, voted and accepted the new settlement Thursday evening.
The union members will return to work immediately, following the strike that started on July 2 at nine Real Canadian Superstore, Zehrs Great Food and Loblaws Great Food locations.
The previous contract for the workers expired July 1. Negotiations began early this year and included a provincially appointed conciliation officer.
