A Rainfall Warning for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex is over.
Environment Canada says the region could see up to 60mm (2.5 inches) of rain over the weekend, including 30mm Saturday.
The warning ended just before 3:30pm Saturday.
Meteorologist Peter Kimbell says the large area the system covers is not characteristic of a summer storm. "Spring, fall, or winter, we get these storms that cover large areas quite normally. What's unusual is to get this kind of storm in late June."
A thunderstorm is also possible Saturday. Wind gusts could reach 70km/h around noon.
Meanwhile The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch for the Windsor-Essex region. The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is monitoring the status of local watersheds in the Chatham-Kent area.
