The scene of a crash involving a tractor trailer on highway 401, June 23 2015 (Photo by Jake Kislinsky)The driver of a tractor trailer has been airlifted to hospital after a serious single-vehicle crash on the 401 Tuesday afternoon.
OPP say around 3pm, a transport truck left the highway. The truck ended up resting on its side about 50m down a hill in the ditch.
Police have not yet determined the cause of the crash. The 63-year-old Windsor driver is currently listed in critical condition in hospital.
Hwy. 401 westbound at Communications Rd. was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
West Region OPP says the incident was isolated with no ongoing risk to public safety
Lambton OPP are on the lookout for a break and enter suspect.
