Chatham-Kent's police chief says all officers feel a loss following the death of an Edmonton constable and the wounding of another.
Gary Conn wouldn't comment on the circumstances of the incident from earlier this week, but says his heart goes out to those who were touched.
"It's difficult on everybody, not just the family and the organization but the municipality as a whole, the community as a whole," he says. "We as police officers, you know, it's part of the job, it could occur."
He says the Chatham-Kent Police Service will try to have representation at the funeral when details are known.
