'Walk A Mile' Raises $25K (Gallery)

Men sported red high heels this past weekend to walk in support of victims of domestic violence.

The annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes fundraiser was held on Sunday inside the Downtown Chatham Centre.

Tracy Lucio, community development and volunteer coordinator at the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre, says the international event allows men to stand against violence towards women.

"It's a men's march against violence," she says. "We have about 75 walkers this year and we raised over $25,000. We have sponsorship that's coming after, we have sponsorship that came in before and (sponsorship) with the walkers."

All money raised at the event is donated towards the women's centre.
